If you have an iPhone with the annoying problem where once in a while where your mail opens for a few seconds and then quits, it’s because of a bug with Apple.
In most cases, an ‘Mail Delivery Failure Notification’ email is the cause of the problem.
You don’t have to delete the account, restore your iphone or any other time consuming solutions.
1. Log into your webmail, and make sure you remove this email, so that it won’t keep being downloaded by your iphone.
2. On your iPhone, go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Scroll down to the Mail section, and find Preview (default is set to 2 lines)
3. Change the preview from 2 lines (or whatever your phone is set to) to ‘None’
When you go to check your mail, the display will be a little bit different, but you’ll be able to then have time to delete the offending email ‘Mail delivery failure notification’ – or similar
4. Go back to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Scroll down to the Mail section, and change preview back to it’s previous settings.
5. Done!
Hope this helps.
